Meet Alexandra Demosthenes, CPA/PFS, CFP®
About Alexandra
After earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting, she began working at one of the world’s largest accounting firms, helping high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates with sophisticated tax planning. While she enjoyed the technical work, she found herself wanting to help clients before important financial decisions were made.
“I grew frustrated that so much of the work was focused on transactions that had already happened. I wanted to help clients make decisions that saved taxes and made the best overall financial sense. A lot of it felt like numbers on a spreadsheet, and we weren’t really getting to the heart of what clients wanted for their lives, their families, and their future.”
That passion for proactive planning and meaningful relationships led her to Boca Wealth Advisors.
Today, Alexandra combines technical expertise with a genuine love for building relationships. She believes financial planning is about far more than numbers.
One of the planning experiences that stands out most involved creating a complex tax strategy that would not only benefit her client but also impact the next generation of his family.
“It wasn’t just numbers on a spreadsheet anymore—it was someone’s life that I cared about.”
That perspective shapes every recommendation she makes.
She recalls another client deciding whether to pay off his mortgage. Another advisor saw it as a simple math problem. Alexandra remembered something much more important—the client had shared years earlier that paying off his mortgage was one of his biggest life goals.
“Could he have earned a little more by investing the money? Probably. But it wouldn’t have been enough to outweigh achieving something that was deeply meaningful to him. The point of money isn’t just to make more money. It’s to use it as a tool to achieve the things that are most meaningful to you.”
Alexandra strives to pair technical excellence with a deep understanding of the people she serves. She hopes clients leave every meeting feeling relieved that the burden of complicated financial decisions no longer rests entirely on their shoulders.
“I hope they feel confident, excited about the future, and taken care of—knowing they have a plan in place and someone guiding them along the way.”
Outside the office, Alexandra enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, Joshua, Benji, and Eden. Whether they’re at the beach, building LEGO creations, exploring science museums, kayaking, or paddleboarding, family is at the center of everything she does.

Adviser Q&A
What's one misconception people have about financial planning?
A big misconception is that wealth is built from one big decision or one great investment—like picking the perfect stock or timing the market.
In reality, long-term wealth is usually built by making lots of good decisions over time. Those decisions compound. On the other hand, a single emotional decision—like selling during a market downturn—can have a much bigger impact than people realize.
What does a successful retirement look like to you?
A successful retirement isn’t simply having the largest investment portfolio.
It’s being honest about how you want to live your life and using your finances to support those priorities.
I love the saying, “The best things in life are free, but the second-best things are very expensive.”
It’s funny because it’s true. The most meaningful parts of life are often your family, your friendships, and your relationships. Money should be used intentionally to enhance those things—not distract from them.
What’s the best part of getting to work with clients for many years?
There are so many rewarding parts of working with clients over many years. Watching them grow throughout their careers, retire, and experience life’s major milestones is incredibly fulfilling.
One thing that especially stands out is being the calm during turbulent markets.
When markets decline, fear and headlines can make people want to abandon their financial plan. Helping clients stay disciplined during those moments—and looking back years later to see that they stayed on track—is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
